About

Why we started WeaveLines Works.

Groups with the assets to build new businesses rarely find a partner who brings both an investor's discipline and an enterprise-grade delivery team, and who leaves the venture fully owned by the client. Innovation programmes end in decks. Agencies deliver applications. Studios keep equity. Consultancies cost more than the venture.

WeaveLines Works exists to be the other kind of partner. We start from a problem the group already has. We validate before capital is committed. We build to the standard a group requires, in its own cloud, with its own product owner in the team. And we hand over an operating business with its own team and its documentation, owned entirely by the client.

We are the venture-building arm of WeaveLines, a product and engineering firm founded in 2017. WeaveLines Works is new. The people, the standards and the method behind it are not.

Our view

What we believe.

  1. 01

Problems make better ventures than ideas

A problem a group already pays for has a customer, a measure and an asset attached. An idea has none of those until it is tested.

  2. 02

    Evidence before capital

Nobody should fund a build on enthusiasm. Validation exists to produce a written recommendation, including when it is no.

  3. 03

The venture should not need us

A business that depends on its builder is not a business. Everything we do is designed for the team that will own it.

  4. 04

    Ownership is not negotiable

Fixed fees, IP assigned as produced, no equity unless the client invites it.

Who leads it

Led by its founders.

Each engagement has a founder as its accountable lead and a senior product and engineering team behind it.

Portrait of Faten Matmati

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer, WeaveLines Works. Founder, WeaveLines.

Faten Matmati

Faten is a product builder and engineer. She founded WeaveLines in Tunis in 2017 and has led it since, building products for startups and corporates from the first idea to the releases after launch. Under her, WeaveLines has launched 36 MVPs, coached more than 150 startups across twelve accelerator and mentorship programmes, and built a residential marketplace in the Gulf integrated with Nafath identity and in-app payment.

She still takes the first conversation with every client. At WeaveLines Works she leads client engagements personally and is accountable for delivery on each one: the assessment, the recommendation, the build and the handover.

Her view of venture building comes from the founder's side of the table: what to build first, what to leave out, and how to put something real in front of customers before the money runs out.

Portrait of Chuck Stormon

Co-founder & Chief Strategy Officer, WeaveLines Works.

Chuck Stormon

Chuck is a serial technology founder and investor who has worked in artificial intelligence since the 1980s. He left his doctoral studies to found a company that commercialised a chip architecture for neural networks, acquired by Cypress Semiconductor. He then co-founded a company whose hybrid AI system transformed how electric utilities managed their networks, acquired by Osmose, and a telecommunications software company acquired by Tekelec and later by Oracle.

He then moved into venture capital while continuing to operate businesses, co-founding a venture accelerator and fund that has made dozens of investments in B2B software companies, sitting on their boards and coaching hundreds of founders.

At WeaveLines Works he leads strategy, sets the validation standards every recommendation must meet, and opens the route to customers, partners and capital in the United States for ventures that should not stop at the region.
